Home Visits

Doctor's bag

These are made only when the patient is too unwell to travel to the surgery or housebound due to incapacity or illness. All requests for home visits are assessed by the doctors and the decision to visit is at their discretion. You may be visited by a Paramedic Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner.

Requests for home visits must be made by phoning our ACfH surgery before 10:00. Visits are usually performed between 13:00 - 14:30.

We ask you to come to the surgery, both because home visits are time consuming (on average takes four times as long as seeing you in the surgery) and we have better facilities for examining and treating you in the surgery with all your medical records available to access during the appointment.

We appreciate your efforts in attending the surgery where possible. May we remind you that a lack of transport is not a valid reason to request a home visit.
